To give you a chance to get to know me, ask any questions and get to know how IÂ can help you.
Assessment
This will vary depending on the age of your child but will include taking a case history to get to know your child, completing observations during play and assessments as required. This will usually take place at home but a school or nursery visit may also be required to gain a holistic view of your child's needs.
Report
A detailed report can be provided following assessment to provide information regarding your child's speech, language and communication profile with recommendations on how to support their development.
Consultation
Best practice is to work collaboratively, particularly with education professionals, to ensure that recommendations are consistent across all settings. I am happy to liaise with other professionals and work with those who work with your child on a daily basis to ensure their needs are always being met.
Therapy
A range of therapy interventions can be offered to best suit the needs of your child. Therapy may be completed at home or in nursery or school depending on the needs of the child.
Intervention options
Supporting parents and carers
Children learn best from the people they are around everyday, which means you and nursery staff! You'll learn straightforward strategies that will be modelled and can then be implemented into everyday life to support early language development. This option can be combined with either of the other two options.
Language therapy
Children may require support with their understanding and talking. This can be supported at home, school or nursery. Activities and resources can be provided to practice outside of sessions.
Speech sound therapy
Children may require support to produce certain sounds. This can be supported at home, school or nursery. Activities and resources can be provided to practice outside of sessions.
